I had a class on Friday evening. We did two projects. The first was a Metal Pencil Resist. I CASEd this from Beate on SCS (www.splitcoaststampers.com). She is an awesome artist and I want to be like her when I grow up! :D Anyway, I kept it very simple as I knew that my two guests were new to stamping and I didn't want to overwhelm them.
Our next project used the SAB Just delightful Simply Scrappin' kit. I also CASEd this from someone at SCS. I really wanted to use the patterned cardstock and a cardstock sticker but since you get two sheets of each sticker sheet I had to be careful so I had enough for my sample card and enough for my guests' cards. So this is what I found:
This uses the patterned cardstock and the "ribbon" down the middle is a cardstock sticker. The only stamping on it is the "delight in life". This is a really simple card but looks really nice!
I did this card for the class but ended up scrapping it after I finished it because I was concerned that it was a little too much for a beginner. Now that it is hard, but a lot of steps. I also CASEd this from SCS from a wonderful artist named 11Valerie11.
This card uses the Kissing technique, which isn't difficult but you just have to be careful when you are inking it up. I had to kiss my Big Blossom twice because the first time I over inked my Paisley and it stamped blotchy. After kissing, you punch the circle for the middle. Valerie used faux thread on hers and I did too. It isn't difficult, but getting it down with a mini dot in the right place takes a little patience. Next I used the Word Window punch and an eyelet for the bottom corner then used the rectangle punch for the hole for the ribbon. I didn't like how large the hole was but oh well, too late now!
