The card from my DS has two digi images I received from Birdie Brown (www.birdiebrown.blogspot.jp/2013/06/June-freebies-challenge.html), Rockin' Doggie. Troy colored the images then I assembled the card for him. The bottom of the You Rock is popped on pop dots as well as the to of the Doggie's head and ears.<br />

I keep planning on doing more stamping and uploading, but life gets busy! Thanks for following along on this journey of life with me!Stampin_melissahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13125710930908391620noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3173138680555703100.post-40751629114858472872013-01-07T15:13:00.002-05:002013-01-07T15:15:13.318-05:00Butterfly BeautyA quick post to share my Butterfly Beauty card I'm sending to someone special. I received a couple of Spellbinder dies for Christmas and have been dying to try them out. Here is the Butterfly Magic Expandable die as the background. I also received Twisted Metal Tags and Accents which coordinates with Unity's Twisted Metal Tags & Accents stamp set and used both items here. The word "beauty" is from Unity's Butterfly Beauty stamp set. I used Stickles on the outlining dots around "beauty" to separate the Lavender Lace layers and Crystle Gemstones from Hero Arts for the corners. A fairly easy card, but one that I hope is elegant in it's simplicity. <br />

She is a sweet neighbor and her dog is our dog's best friend! So a puppy card was a no-brainer!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKDzHgXKZioBLU3Ii4N8ayW955NeHU3q2ePzZaUxN4wqLKklwR4Fv8AU_ziaIXxSB_otJWQfzvC7lvDPL5P5atfzvM5PMvBanY1RChua1LrUkUOrSi9rhovd4Bngnd5EqaEufyvTQTdQ/s1600/100_9285.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKDzHgXKZioBLU3Ii4N8ayW955NeHU3q2ePzZaUxN4wqLKklwR4Fv8AU_ziaIXxSB_otJWQfzvC7lvDPL5P5atfzvM5PMvBanY1RChua1LrUkUOrSi9rhovd4Bngnd5EqaEufyvTQTdQ/s320/100_9285.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I used the puppy from SNSS's Woof You, the Wood background is a free digi from GinaK, and the sentiment from SU! Colored the puppy with Copic markers and added some clear glitter pen on the bandana and eyes. Stamped sentiment on some adhesive backed ribbon in my stash and layered it on one of the SU pinks. Hopefully this will be a good card for a 10 y/o girl!<br />
<br />
Have a great summer!<br />

I stamped it on glossy with Staz-On and used my SU markers to color the image. Yes, you read right, my SU markers! I haven't used them in ages, in fact, my DS uses them more than I do now that I have some Copic markers. ;)<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8Xpa-SuvYiKLJ_H6klm2k49IUaIgWVL-ai8hUf5eYuQf7QABXdsoZ2QSz3__qLpUEAdW4UBof8CFTk3oVyG3Nuxk-AJ-K9G8JqaQCeG_S-fP1t4jbC696ZVuZr_01KkLk6-uyr5EOIA/s1600/100_8524.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 262px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8Xpa-SuvYiKLJ_H6klm2k49IUaIgWVL-ai8hUf5eYuQf7QABXdsoZ2QSz3__qLpUEAdW4UBof8CFTk3oVyG3Nuxk-AJ-K9G8JqaQCeG_S-fP1t4jbC696ZVuZr_01KkLk6-uyr5EOIA/s320/100_8524.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5474321250376039330" border="0" /></a><br />I used an oval Nestie to cut the center out of the vellum. I sprayed the vellum with Pearl Glimmer mist and it curled much worse than I anticipated. I had to flatten it out under some heavy binders. That only helped a little. I used the CB corners and attached with mini black brads to attach the vellum. I still had some curl in the vellum so I had to try to glue down edges under the corners. Yes, this card was a bit trying, but worth it in the end I believe. The vellum looks better IRL I believe with the shimmer from the Glimmer Mist. It took so long to get the results that I had in my head it ended up being sent late. So glad I have a sweet MIL!<br /><br />I almost forgot to mention that the card sketch I used is this month's current sketch challenge over at <a href="http://rubberstampchat.net/showthread.php?t=3721">Rubber Stamp Chat</a>. Before I even got out of bed this morning I had TWO Valentines from my little guy! He used his cardstock but my glitter pens (asking afterward if it was okay! Hahah!)<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_-rKFede0_VpGRiF1XCSNkUgzvCqIfl8By2h7RzK3L4HKeBkwMRC6153-kjZW_7Y71VS3GBUST6hYgk5Nw0pKMzvICcZz2Rmd4fH5-2LmyqEeK7uqgkhcgPoMfKfkkcPS_mx9rbo1IA/s1600-h/IMG_0015.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_-rKFede0_VpGRiF1XCSNkUgzvCqIfl8By2h7RzK3L4HKeBkwMRC6153-kjZW_7Y71VS3GBUST6hYgk5Nw0pKMzvICcZz2Rmd4fH5-2LmyqEeK7uqgkhcgPoMfKfkkcPS_mx9rbo1IA/s320/IMG_0015.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5438209151736342722" border="0" /></a><br />I was going to post a picture of his Valentines to me, but Blogger won't allow me up upload another picture right now. I will note that the first Valentine's card opened backwards, or perhaps his heart was just upside down! ;)<br /><br />Before I show you the card I made my DS I wanted to send out a "Thank You!" I actually WON a new set illustrated by <a href="http://craftingtheweb.blogspot.com/">Theresa Momber</a> from <a href="http://blog.ginakdesigns.com/">GinaK's</a> sneak peek last week called <a href="http://www.shop.ginakdesigns.com/product.sc?productId=718&categoryId=16">Hang In There</a>. Theresa is terrifically talented! I just love seeing her artwork and tutorials. She definitely inspired my card, not just because I used her set. You see, the night I saw on Gina's blog that I had won, my DS came downstairs to get me and I was so excited I showed him the set and a couple of DT samples before I took him back up to bed. Well, he commented that perhaps I could make him a Valentine's card using the cute frogs (he's ALL boy! LOL!) I told him I would if the set arrived in time, (I definitely wasn't expecting it that soon you know, there's always hope.) Imagine my surprise when a package arrived in my mailbox Friday! YES!! It was here and without further ado here is the card I made for him. <br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEix0U3QBTKQs9GxcvZbrL5Y_QzYgKfV7ZCj8Y957g9gyBRPXI-GErcJ6yKM3vXeHNJqwRBs8ZRQb1lzO3WL5cTTJyqHAhZLTAYQJ4Z9e81mHOTMNOngK_uwkhFJPUn5GGHZtZQcbak-eQ/s1600-h/Frog+Valentine.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 272px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEix0U3QBTKQs9GxcvZbrL5Y_QzYgKfV7ZCj8Y957g9gyBRPXI-GErcJ6yKM3vXeHNJqwRBs8ZRQb1lzO3WL5cTTJyqHAhZLTAYQJ4Z9e81mHOTMNOngK_uwkhFJPUn5GGHZtZQcbak-eQ/s320/Frog+Valentine.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5438209142806497506" border="0" /></a><br />I had to take several pictures to get a good shot of this. This card uses the Double Embossed Metal <a href="http://techniquejunkies.com/">TJ Technique.</a> I was at Hobby Lobby several months ago in the framing section (not usually in that section of HL) and found this roll of soft aluminum on sale so I bought it. I KNEW I'd be able to use it for something! Thanks so much Pat for the inspiration! <br /><br />The layout is from today's <a href="http://cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/2010/02/cps-154-part-1.html">CPS</a> card sketch #154. They actually posted it a bit early (last night) to their Facebook page so I immediately started to use it for this card. <br /><br />Can you see <a href="http://craftingtheweb.blogspot.com/">Theresa's</a> influence on this card? After I colored this cute little guy using my Copic Markers I masked him and sponged all around him. I really like how this turned out!<br /><br />The DP was embossed with the Leafy Branch folder and brayered Bamboo Leaves (Memento) over to highlight the embossing. <br /><br />Thanks for reading this far!! Until last night. Our local Officer Spouses' Club had a luncheon today with the theme of Make It, Bake It, Fake It. Until last night, I had nothing to take. I found a beautiful card at Splitcoast to CASE. Gotta love SCS when you have both a mojo and time crunch! </span><a style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" href="http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1427558?&cat=17441">Nikki's card</a><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> was perfect for the job!</span><br /><br /><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Here are the four cards I made. They are all the same with the exception of the sentiment I used. Three of the sentiments are from the Services & Sacrifices stamp set. There's a lot of layers here, more than I normally use, but I love the feel of these cards. I did add a layer inside (forgot to take a photo) where I stamped the star from the Wanted set in VersaMark along the side borders onto kraft c/s. With all the layers on the front it helped give the back of the card some strength and provided a lighter surface to write on. </span><br /><br /><a style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYVkWHUgnAuAovquB_GyJMFxLIHNwJ-5Vpu3EAj8Mbs4fiA-D6dIMjpbbYpn6gSN63dZoQXbnVs9rsDyS3FoaQDs03TXNFK-LbO8ukkp5WMCNEWE3noGpfg6Nlqi9FxcFWbrZqyAS02w/s1600/100_8029.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 148px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYVkWHUgnAuAovquB_GyJMFxLIHNwJ-5Vpu3EAj8Mbs4fiA-D6dIMjpbbYpn6gSN63dZoQXbnVs9rsDyS3FoaQDs03TXNFK-LbO8ukkp5WMCNEWE3noGpfg6Nlqi9FxcFWbrZqyAS02w/s320/100_8029.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5405547776148010018" border="0" /></a><br /><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">My friend Rose ended up winning this set. During their monthly release they post a couple of challenges and you have a week to complete the challenge. So I won a challenge and since my DS loves all sports I just HAD to get Kip! Well, my nephew (9 months older than Troy) also LOVES baseball so I inked Kip up for my nephew's birthday. I used one of the challenges at the </span><a style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" href="http://www.papermakeup.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=89">PMS forum</a><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> for this card. The challenge was a card sketch with some additions (sparkle, button, layers & PINK: see those cheeks and mouth? LOL!) I hope his card arrives in time and that he can recognize that Kip is wearing a NY Yankee's uniform! Well, I did my best with that part! Anyway, my nephew is living with my brother in S. Korea and tomorrow is his birthday so "Happy birthday Gabe!"</span><br /><br /><a style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBUm3iKya64VuJBv1Pl2wuaJbHwFvm8gnRKhSqFqKzj8PtzdVwsCQTYmrUTgKWY2UvJNtsVg4g537ZMAlRIrJLtd2l2WznNIglncBxb3mmpIVMdySnpB_lPP40Xf_AYFJyF1FOA0yRSw/s1600-h/Kip+Birthday.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 268px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBUm3iKya64VuJBv1Pl2wuaJbHwFvm8gnRKhSqFqKzj8PtzdVwsCQTYmrUTgKWY2UvJNtsVg4g537ZMAlRIrJLtd2l2WznNIglncBxb3mmpIVMdySnpB_lPP40Xf_AYFJyF1FOA0yRSw/s320/Kip+Birthday.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5381764368359637874" border="0" /></a><br /><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">I tried using a gray marker for the pin stripes but it was too dark and I didn't want to start over so I stamped Kip two more times and used a pencil for the stripes. I cut out his new uniform out and from the second image I cut just the mitt so Kip has a bit of paper tole going on. </span><br /><br /><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">I wanted the brown layer to have a leather feel to it so I misted some water onto it and wrinkled it and spread it back out. I used a VersaMarker over the image of Kip and clear embossed him before I sponged the green and blue background. </span><br /><br /><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Thanks for taking a look!
